shareholders when he accepted the CEO position. Chief Executive Officers are suppose to run company operations, not BODs. Besides, Cliff is also a BOD member. Sure, the BOD can fire/replace him as the CEO, but he would get his contracted remaining salary (every other fired CEO has); however, he could NOT be removed from the BOD by Carl and Gloria.
It's a sad commentary on the integrity of the position and the person, when you say you agree with Laurie's description, and yet think that a man uniquely in the Position to improve the value of the business and situation of Shareholders, and for 6 years has been handsomely paid for the obligation to do so, won't do anything because his primary thought is that he might "harm himself" financially ?
I understand the point you're making, but what a standard to expect of a CEO !!
