It was 2012. He happened to sit (with Jan) next to me. He really perked up when Apple was first mentioned, asking "What did he say?". I said "Apple, it's known from a PACER in the Marcous case". He seemed a bit shocked that we were aware. And this may still have been his mindset when he did his song & dance - exactly as you suspect, he didn't believe anyone was aware of Apple, much less the value, or that somehow it wouldn't be discovered, and that the mere prestege of having Apple as a licensee was adequately profound to influence infringers. I see no other possible basis for is "something more". He was obviously very wrong. We got "something less".

Later in the meeting he asked me "Who are you?". I suspect he read my name tag and recognized my name but couldn't place it with the emails to the PTO (copies were forwarded to Cliff who forwarded them further). My answer: "Just a long term shareholder".
