Yes, it would seem so for a Roth. Can you convert the shares or do you need to sell first and convert cash? Does anybody know how losses are treated in a regular IRA? What if I put 1,000 dollars in an IRA and a stock goes to zero; do I still owe a % of tax on the $1000?
