HTCdoes not usually settle. They play dirty. They need to remove the infringement tag to remove the possibility of more suits on more products. They appeal. IMO, they ko the appeal because they think they will lose but they still need that big concession....no more suits. So, they not PTSC, make the first move. Otteson is not on board to get his share of 960K. He deals and money, alot of it, is the only way we back off. DEAL done! If HTC was doing the dirty work for the industry and those dudes were helping defend and fund then they would also be helping fund the settlement. No reason to accept chump change. In the article, an HTC representative mentions that HTC is going to issue a statement. Why? Explain/defend the big money settlement= no more suits from these guys. Otherwise, why would this gorilla waste time with a statement. Now, the real topping would be if part of the deal included guarnteed meaningful $$ from rest of defendants!
