shouldn't that bone be connected?

Yes,, the collar bone has separated from the shoulder blade (no fracture thankfully),, this is called an ac (acromioclavicular) separation... there are multiple grades of separation.. from grade 1 to grade 6.. grades 4 to 6 always require surgery to fix.. grade 3, which is what I have, usually does not tho may require surgery after a yr if not healed properly.. I will be dilligent with my PT to avoid surgery... will continue to apply ice for another 2 days or so to keep swelling down combined with anti-inflamatories.. will then begin ROM/PT.. have a big mountain traverse scheduled for this Aug so I gotta get right... otherwise NO PICTURES for you guys :)
