Based on this (copied from the internet), I don't think the response deadline applies to the court - I think it applies to the Respondents (i.e. Samsung, Wauwei, and the like). It now makes sense that Samsung filed their response wavier on 10/10 (or whatever the response deadline was that was indicated). For those seeking an answer today (on the writ / petition) or the next, we may need to wait some more. Man, you need a strong set to hold PTSC stock. Hurry up and watch the paint dry. I can't believe all of those who held this stock that have gone by the way side in the interium. Going by the numbers below, our chances are slim but not none.

Generally, the response to a petition is anywhere from a couple of months to six months. Just because an appeal is made to the supreme court does not mean they will agree to hear it. The U.S. Supreme Court declines to hear over 99% of the cases brought before it each year.
