BusinessWeek noted this morning that Sony (SNE +1.23%) is set to unveil a digital e-book at the Las Vegas consumer electronics show on Jan 4 that will sell between $300 to $500. While details are limited, co reportedly has agreements with at least 3 publishers to sell digital books including HarperCollins, Random House and Simon and Schuster (VIA). Also of note, PHX spinoff iRex technologies and Chinese Jinke Co. both plan to launch e-books in first half of 2006.
