Would normally agree that the insurance carriers would step in to settle, or throw the risk of loss back to the Insured if they wanted to pursue a verdict; however, with only limited markets offering coverage, even the largest Insureds would not purchase Patent Infringement coverage without paying substantial annual premiums with huge deductibles. They would most likely try to save as much out of pocket costs from an unfavorable court decision, or recurring legal expenses and settle; IMHO. Very interesting times to follow...
