``If there was a weakness in the patents wouldn`t Intel have challenged? AMD, Casio, HP, Fujitsu?``
We are all hoping this to be the case, but in reality it may not. Intel, AMD and HP were let off relatively easy, probably much cheaper than the cost of litigation. IMHO, the three got a very inexpensive insurance policy. Remember, in business, it is not about right or wrong, it is all about the bottom line. I think PTSC/TPL is smart to give these companies a cheap settlement because it helps them in court. I am not an attorney, so I will leave it up to the lawyers to slam me on this one, but IMHO, the court would look favorable on PTSC`s actions in trying to resolve the conflict without fleecing the defendants. Truth is AMD, HP, and Intel got off so cheap, the payment isn`t even a blip on their financial radar. Most likely, they bought some PTSC shares and already paid for their settlement.
Fujitsu and Casio are still unknowns. Everyone is speculating on what the numbers might be, but until we really find out what the deals are, we are gambling. In order for the PPS to maintain momentum, we need future revenue (reoccurring licensing revenue), not one time payments. Let`s hope this is the case. If there are no reoccurring licensing fees, expect the stock price to decline. If there are, and they are substantial, than we all made the right decision by holding on. Let`s hope this to be the case. Good luck everyone.
