I noticed that in the TIVO vs. EchoStar civil case, the judge told the jury that it must be a unanimous decision. I thought that civil cases only had to be 9 out of 12 in favor of either side? Was this unusual, or is this what we should expect should Patriot go to court? TIA. GLTA
From the TiVo case:
“Both said the jury did not rush to a decision”. ``Our hearts sank when the judge told us it must be unanimous,`` Ms. Lindsey said. ``We were all prepared to come back tomorrow.`` ``We had some discussion,`` Ms. Dotson said, admitting jurors were not of the same opinion when they began deliberations.”
