Definitely. In fact, that 18-1 team has got to be considered better than this Pats 18-1 team by virtue of the SB win. In fact, all three of the Pats previous SB winning teams are "greater" than this year's, since this one couldn't close the deal, regardless of how talented this year's team was. Looking back at my Steelers, their "best" team was really their 1976 team that started out 1-4 but went on to record five shutouts in their next 8 games allowing only 28 points to be scored on them in that 8 game span. That's right 28pts!!! That's an average of 3.5pts per game allowed! They had TWO 1000 yd rushers in Franco Harris & Rocky Blier, but ended up losing in the AFC Championship game to the dregs-of-society-lawless-convict-layden Oakland Raydas when both Franco & Rocky were hurt the week before and couldn't play. Their "best" team, but not their GREATEST.
At the end of the day, winning IS everything, and you gotta tip your hat to the Giants.
Wondering if the Pats fans are up in arms today about Belicheats decision to go for it on 4th down and 13 from the 31 rather than try the 48 yd field goal. After all, it was indoors, perfect weather, and it was 13 yds for a first! I thought it was a mistake at the time, and turned out it was the difference on the scoreboard at the end of regulation. Not so geniouslike IMO.
