Hey, thx for this Sabre. This is cool stuff.
Going although way back to your initial flight training, my brother in law is probably one of the, if not the top Super Cub A&P in Alaska. Him and his old boss just got back from a trip to Israel this year where they bought up all of the Israeli Air Force's surplus Super Cub parts. Pallets and pallets of everything you can imagine. Most of this stuff has been sitting on the shelves for decades. As you can imagine, Super Cubs are in huge demand as bush planes up in Alaska.
This is the top Super Cub outfitter in the state of Alaska.

My brother in law can build a super cub from scratch, literally. From welding the frame on a jig, to doing the wings, builting a panel from scratch, covering the plane, you name it. Many of the planes in the pictures on that site are his work.
As for me, no commercial experience. I got my CFI one month before 9/11 and was planning on doing that part time. Of course 9/11 happened and flight schools across the country were either scailing back big time or closing their doors. So I ended up going a different direction at that time.
But I've lived and breathed aviation my whole life, and I can't get enough of it. So to be talking to an honest to god Sabre pilot, not to mention all the other cool flying that you've done, is just to cool to me.
My grandfather flew fighters in WWII. My step-father was a bush pilot in Alaska. Even my mom got her private! I flew with her one time, scared the hell out of me!
Sorry to the rest of you who have no interest in aviation and I'm probably boring you to tears... But Sabre is A-ok in my book.
