Steve,
Everything that you just learned about Obama I already knew. That's what gets me about the guy; he literally brings nothing to the table. The guy is a smart guy. He taught at a University. He is a product of the corrupt Chicago political machine. He literally did nothing while serving in Illinois, but be there. That's it. He has done nothing since becoming a U.S. Senator. Again, I mean that literally. He has no major, or minor that I'm aware of, bills that he has sponsored or co-sponsored. He has the most liberal voting record in Congress. (Biden has the 3rd most liberal voting record). He has no foreign policy experience. Outside of his own time in his own state, he really doesn't even have that much domestic experience. The guy is a great orator. He carries himself well. That's about all I can say about him.
Have you noticed the incredibely simple minded and insulting way the democrats are running for office? They preach a very simple minded, and insulting to the American people mantra. It goes like this: "Bush is the Anti-Christ. McCain is Bush. We hate Bush, thus we hate McCain. Voting for McCain is voting for Bush. We can't have 4 more years of that." That's it. And the thing that really gets me is that people actually just buy into that simple minded mantra. Look at the propoganda that Borredo is constantly spouting and posting. Sound familiar? The left has to try and keep the focus on Bush and equate McCain to Bush, the boogy man. The alternative is that Obama would have to clearly state his positions on domestic and foreign policy, and would have to stand on his own record; of which we all know he has none.
McCain was not my first choice for the GOP candidate by far. But McCain is no Bush. Like him or not, his track record proves that he is his own man.
Based only on the roles and responsibilies of the offices of Governor and Senator, we know that any first time Governor of any state has more executive experience than any first time Congressman from any state. Big state or small, Governors have budgets, people that they manage, people that they are answerable too, huge responsibilites relative to any congressman, and they are the Commander-and-Chief of their own states National Guard. A Senator on the other hand at the minimum has to show up for his or her job and hopefully vote on some bills. Sarah Palin has more executive experience than Obama does, period.
And even though neither Obama and Palin are not very experienced in general. Of the two, clearly Palin is by far the better choice. She is middle America. She does drive herself to work every day. Her husband has a regular blue collar job, where he actually works for a living. Her kids go to public schools. She hunts, she fishes, she participated in the PTA. She talks the talk, and walks the walk. Obama may be a smart guy, but he was steeped in the liberal bastions of Ivy leage schools. Beyond his educational background, he is a politician. While in his first term in the U.S. Senate he has managed to put out two books about himself and run for President. Not much time in there for taking care of business as a Senator from Illinois supposedly representing his state.
