General George Pickett was literally last in his class at West Point. And yet some of the greatest military minds, not only from his time but in our history, deferred to him quite a bit on topics of strategy. These great military minds would be General's Longstreet and StoneWall Jackson. Probably the greatest General that America ever produced deferred to these two men.

Being educated and smart is absolutely a plus. But in and of itself it doesn't make you great, or necessarily better than others. I know plenty of people that have degrees that are straight up idiots. And I know plenty of people that have no education outside of high school that are absolutely brilliant.

Look at Clinton, a Rhodes Scholar. Clearly a very smart man. But not smart enough to not get caught with having a young ditzy intern smoking on the Presidential cigar.
