Creationism, is not a religion and there in lies the reason so many thinking rational and yes faithful (as well as some not so faithful but just plain fair) Americans want it taught in schools.

Honest and factual teaching of religion should be taught in schools as how the religion relates to historical fact. That is also a shame as currently the excesses of Islam is being toned down on a historical basis as not to hurt the feelings of those who practice that faith. However history is history and ignoring the truth is when mankind gets into trouble.

Germany was guilty of unimaginable crimes against humanity in the 30's and the 40's. That is fact and is historically accurate how would history and the knowledge of our youth (especially the youth in Germany) be affected if that information during that time period suddenly disappeared from history books.
