If they did their job they might not get invited to DC cocktail parties to schmooze with the big-wheels (that they are supposed to be objectively 'watching over' on behalf of the people).
And unfortunately, even if they did try to do the job they should be doing, most are ill-equipped knowledge-wise to grasp the various economic issues of the day, and thus accurate full-fledged analysis is beyond their grasp.
Not to worry though, 'change' is coming, although it has yet to be defined.
