Thanks for your comments. I removed the first post as I had hit submit before editing, and somehow removed the second as well during my effort to remove the first. They were both just unedited (typo's and fragments) of what I eventually posted, and even that one needed some editing but I gave up. So in short, (which is rare for me) you didn't miss anything! lol

As for Maher, I was NOT intending to compare him to Hitler in the sense of his attrocities (and Maher's sense of humor is debateable as well!, lol). Instead, I was (apparently unsuccessfully) trying communicate that Maher's claim that Palin is a cult-belonging wacko is quite hypocritical. I think HIS espoused cult-like mentality focussed on destroying religion compared to Palins practice of Christianity while publicly supporting all religions or even none at all, is FIGURATIVELY akin to Hitler's cult-like desire to anihilate Jews at ANY expense vs. Bush's (and America's) policies to support not only Israel but Palestine, Africa, and the Middle East generally except for, (though sometimes historically including) Terror Supporting Countries. Maher takes on Christianity and religion, figuratively, like Hitler took on Jews, mocking, demonizing and utlimately trying to remove them from society.

Just so you know, though, I still watch Maher's show, and at times enjoy some of his commentary as I'm not one to throw out the baby with the bath water. I look at him in large part as satirical entertainment, though I'm convinced he himself and others to NOT look at him that way. Because many don't, I think he's a bit dangerous, but that's only MY opinion.

He had one good comment after the second debate, I believe, in which (I'm paraphrasing) he said that rather than utilize the current format, we should actually have just the two candidates, and one of each of their most partisan supporters, and have the opposing candidates answer the questions from the partisan supporters with no time limits, or rules. My only addition to that would be that any mention of their typical stump speech drivel, and they would suffer electric shock therapy. You can be sure we'd get better info, and more interesting dialogue at the least!
