There is such a simple resolution to the birth certificate issue that what makes it a troubling issue is that the Obama campaign won't resolve it.
All Obama has to say is that he does NOT have the original birth certificate issued by the State of Hawaii at the actula time of his birth. While I may be wrong, everything I've read suggests that he actually claims to have it stored away somewhere. If he does, he should have produce that one long ago. If he doesn't, he should simply say he doesn't have it because for any number of reasons, it was lost. It is not atypical for someone, or their parents, to have lost the original, or for it to have been destroyed, or stolen, and for that reason he's requested and received a duplicate original from Hawaii. That's supposedly what he's posted there.
If that is in fact the only one he has, then simply say so, and provide the postmarked original envelop that it came in showing the Hawaii postmark, and all the original markings, thus putting the issue to bed.
Personally, I think it is probably much ado about nothing. However, what is troubling is how disrespectful Obama's campaign is being to the American people to allow this issue to linger, when it can be so easily resolved. This "telling the truth very slowly" seems to be a pattern with Obama as shown in the handling of the other issues, like Rev. Wright, Rezko, and Ayers. If he is this way during a campaign, it does not bode well for him being forthright and fully and immediately truthful during his presidency. We've had too many of those types of presidents, IMO, and that certainly is not the Change that we Need, as it's just more of the same.
Begs the question from Obama - Why lie, when the truth will do?
