The more coal they burn, the more greenhouse gas.

The more greenhouse gas, the warmer the winters.

The warmer the winters, the less electricity used for heating.

The less electricity used for heating, the less coal that needs to be used to create electricity. (As well as the less imported oil used for home heating, natural gas, nuclear power, etc.)
