FYI,
I went to my representatives town hall meeting last night. Well, actually I tried. I got there an hour early and waited. The line snaked all the way around the building and way out into the parking lot. Long story short, I didn't get it. They said they were at max-capacity. I would guesstimate that two or three hundred of us that didn't make it in.
There were people supporting both sides of the issue. It seemed that there were way more opposed to socialized health care than for. I would also say that about half of the audience was senior citizens; with the rest being mostly middle aged people. At 44 I felt that I was one of the younger people there.
There was no violence; no organized protests; no outburts or threats being made by anyone. There were a decent amount of signs and people wearing various t-shirts promoting their cause. In spite of what Nancy Pelosi says, it was a very American turnout. Everyone was very respectful and well behaved; at least for the time I was there.
My representative is Dan Lundgren; and this meeting was held last night at the city council chambers in Citrus Heights, California at 7:00 PM; about a mile from where I live. To see news, pictures, and videos on our town hall meeting, see the link below.
