I think the mission was to topple Saddam (accomplished) to insure he never used weapons of mass destruction (accomplished). And the gift of freedom bestowed upon a deserving populace is I surmise ..... collateral benefit.

But remember ............................. there is/was no Al-Qaeda in Iraq; they are a figment of everyone's imagination.
