I normally keep my political opinions to myself, however, I'm willing to violate my personal policy for this occasion. This decision says little about Obama and more about the Nobel committee. If further solidifies the fact that socialist love our changing America and desperately want us to step down to their level. This country wasn't built on disincentives. No one held a gun to my head and forced me to attend A&M. No one showed up at the house to help my parents fillout page after page of student loan applications. No one showed up after college and offered to help me pay back the $15K in loans. When "entitlement" becomes a policy the very core of what made America strong starts to rot from within. I don't support the extreme other side of the equation either. Personal success cannot be condoned if it was achieved through misdeeds and unethical behavior.
The problem is most people truly don't seem to get what makes our country strong. The ability for people to pick themselves up, work hard and achieve personal success cannot be understated as a strong motivation. The end result is a common thread that exist amongst citizens forming a more secure community and a universal goal for the individual to work hard and enjoy personal achievement. That doesn't mean you need piles of money to measure success. I had a professor who said the difference between America and the rest of the world was simple, a family that enjoys a house, two cars, two kids, one vacation a year and a retirement account doesn't riot in the streets and scream for revolution. You start tightening your grip around those people and everything changes. The degrees of separation from democracy, socialism and communism aren't nearly as far apart as people would like to believe. Obama may truly believe that he is offering geniune change to better all people. The problem is, when someone wakes up in the morning believing they don't have to work as hard anymore, the very fabric that makes us America slowly tears apart.
