If you are talking about srandal saying this, I think he himself stated he was an engineer working on jet engines for, ahem, government fighter planes.
Yes, I worked for 25 years at a private company that started it's busness in a garage and grew into what liberals would consider an evil fortune 500 corporation that employs thousands of people now around the world. I'm very proud of what I did there. That is the free market system at its best. This was a company that did benefit from military and comercial aircraft programs. Yes, I worked on parts that went to companies that assembled these parts into jet engines or tank engines that were then sold and shipped to plane manufacturers with government contracts. These evil corporations like Boeing, GE, Mcdonald Douglas and Pratt & Whitney to name a few employed millions of people and are not government owned companies yet.
Yes, I saw waste in government funded programs. Not comercial but yes on government funded programs where the money was alocated by the government for these engiine and plane manufacturers to spend in a set timeframe use it or lose it so often times it was wasted so it could be ussed imo. So many of these programs imo appeared to be a waste of tax payers money. Making engine parts for military jets and tanks was not a waste of tax payers money imo. These are sound programs that fuel the economy, provide jobs, push the state of the art, and provide our military with the best equipment in the world so they can protect and keep us free.
