We can't even afford the interest on that amount of money.

$800 billion is just to pay the interest on the deficits run up by Reagan and Bushes 1 & 2.

Another little mentioned fact is that Alan Greenspan, testifying for Shrub in early 2001, stated that surpluses were a danger to America.
