Prior to getting into politics, Mr. Williams became a business millionaire. If he wants to pay his own money, no problem for me; after all, being rich enough to pay for health care when you want it is the American way even though there are millions of poor Americans unable to avail themselves of the kind of service Mr. Williams will be receiving. If, on the other hand, the Canadian federal or provincial governments end up paying the bill, you can be sure questions will be asked by Canadian citizens.
The question already being asked all over Canada is "why couldn't Williams get treatment at any number of centres in the country, including, especially, one world-renowned heart treatment centre in Ottawa?" I guess that Mr. Williams will explain himself as soon as he returns and has sufficiently recovered to do so. Until then I wish him well for a full recovery and look forward to his explanation, as I'm sure are all the voters in Newfoundland/Labrador.
I won't comment on the "cowards" remark except to refer you to my previous post on this OT forum.
