The head of the largest climate change study ever undertaken in Canada says the Arctic sea ice is thinning faster than expected.
For the inevitable flood (excuse the pun) of responses from those who are unable (or unwilling) to differentiate between local weather events and long-term climate behaviour, I quote this single sentence from the link below:
The result is more variability in the climate: warm spells are getting warmer and the cold spells are getting colder.
What have I been saying to all those who unthinkingly assume that climate change means a gradual, steady, increase in temperature?

This study was funded in great part by the Canadian government. The government probably isn't too happy about the results, currently being one of the biggest climate change deniers on the planet given its desire to keep on producing dirty oil from the Alberta tar sands. Hard for the Canadian government to argue with these facts although I'm sure that won't stop anyone here from trying. Good luck!
