What right wing sites like Politico never tell you is that huge consessions where made to the GOP during the process. Max Baucus even excluded single payer advocates from his hearings last summer and had them (doctors!) arrested when they tried to participate.

The GOP has openly bragged that they will vote no on any proposal. That is a fact. Even "moderate" Republicans have voted against concessions that were made by the Dems to bring them on board.
