"You liberals really need to lay off the weed. Hitler was all about big government. Government control of the people. He like all dictatorships are about as far left as you can get, left being liberal in spending and government control which is far from less government and conservative.
Here it is in simple terms so that perhaps even you can understand it;
Left=Big government, Liberal spending, less freedom (Not what the founding fathers intended).
Right=small government, conservative spending, more freedom (Exactly what the founding fathers intended)."
. . . . . . .
Is it really worth wasting my time responding to this colossal misapprehension of political history? If only because I see that it's received seven thumbs - good grief!!!!!
This isn't my opinion, you know - it's historical fact. If you think Hitler was left-wing why do you think he put union leaders into concentration camps along with socialists, academics, Jews, gays and gypsies? And why were the captains of German industry given such power during the Nazi regime? Or maybe you think the Ku Klux Klan was a cosy bunch of liberals out for nice night time rides? If Batista was a left wing dictator, why did Castro bother to overthrow him? If Pinochet was left wing, why did he bother to overthrow Allende (with the help, incidentally, of the CIA, during a period when dirty tricks were de rigeur even when overthrowing a democratically elected left wing government and replacing it with a right wing dictatorship)?
Your idea of what constitutes left wing and right wing as those terms apply to any dictatorship is not just simplistic, it's inaccurate in the extreme. And it's shared by at least seven others here. It's a display of ignorance unparalleled on any other forum I've ever visited. Castro is a left wing dictator. Kim Jong Il is a left wing dictator. But most of 'em are as right wing as you can get. Are you all really that clueless?
I'm outa here. For good.
PS: It's evident that you have no idea what the Founding Fathers intended.
