You fail to mention we supported Saddam Hussein before we turned against him. We gave him millions if not billions of dollars, built his military up, and turned a blind eye to his human rights violations at the same time.

Only when he invaded Kuwait did we turn against him (and rightly so). We should have finished him off in this first war, but GHWB pulled out after nailing his Revolutionary Guard.

Fast foward to post-9/11. GWB, the decider (actually Cheney), invaded the country under the false belief that they had weapons of mass destruction and the false belief that they were harboring Al-Queda.

So we basically destroyed the country, and are now re-building it (rightly so).
