Well, I am confused:
In the 1800 Illeagals were welcomed in America, the Chinese illeagals along with Mexican built the railroads.
In the 1900s, Mexican labor worked the farms.
In the mid 1950's to present Mexican labor works the jobs that no men (or women) like to do.
We had open borders back then.
While I agree that we have to "tighten them up" for security purposes and to keep the crimanals out., there has to be mercy since many American (even from Europe) where illeagle at one time or another.
I would say keep the good ones, kick the bad ones out!
Or.... if the country wants to change its position to a tough new stance, I welcome it, however there were good people here from the 1960's and up that deserve a chance to stay.
Many are responsible business owners as well as homeowner that paid the price to stay, many of their sons and daughters served in the Military to protect this country.
Lets be fair.
If we are going to create an Iron Curtain at the Borders, at least do it fairly and let the hard working people that did pay their taxes, that did pay their dues to stay.
I am all for kicking the criminals out though!
