Perhaps those who are against any relaxation of the parameters of the rules to become legal residents, should consider the FACT that once this group obtains work permits, along with Drivers permits, that will allow them to commute to JOBS, they will begin then to pay into the Social Security system.
Then the expected increased contributions to the SS System will EXTEND the viability of the SS System, beyond its presently predicted expiration date..
These groups are presently getting by on Government Largess, and,"Under the table efforts", Which does not contribute to the SS System, and does NOT thereby improve the survival of the System.
Many have equated the SS System to a ponzi Scheme, and there is MUCH validity to that..
However if the YOUNGER workers are NOT paying in, then, the MONEY will surely run out before long..
If the immigrants who are here, and working outside the legal framework , do NOT pay into the system, 'soon',, then it will run out of money,by the time AMERICAN citizens become elegible to draw from it..
This is something to give SERIOUS thought to, and the IMPLICATIONS on future retirees...
