You and I are actually think more alike than we disagree.  What you describe is totally possible.  My point is to be able to see both up and down situations as possibilities and to be able to respond quickly to both.

To add to the support of your comments, one aspect that I don't remember having read from anyone yet, is the potential to be out when a spinoff is announced.  It is my understanding that there will be  a time window in which one needs to be invested in order to receive shares in the new company based on the number of shares you own.  To me this is perhaps even more important than being caught out when the sp moves up.  As we have seen, the sp comes down again, but you will only get one chance with having a maximum position when the spin takes place.  It would be nice to have further comments on this.

Rodg, my comments were not specifically about you, but about a general level of optimism which really would border on pumping regardless of how well founded it's basis is, one that I also believe in.  It is the excess of it without balance that may be fine for those who've been here for a while, but not balanced enough for new readers.  I think the optimism can continue to be expressed as it should, but it should always be offered with a caution.  Most people here who have introduced NOT to family and friends no doubt have included phrases like "only what you can afford to lose" or "always elements of risk".  That should continue here too for the new readers who are the new "family and friends" , at least on occasion...... touching base with sound judgement.  These are just my opinions and I contribute as I can to help.
