While RN has undoubtedly been under severe pressure to say something, this morning's NR has mis-handled the situation for what it did not say. A simple statement to the the effect that the assays as reported (albeit inadequately documented) gave no reason for management to believe prior results and/or interpretation of visuals was incorrect, a sort of negative assurance, would have been most appropriate. In the financial world, information blanks and voids are filled with negative assumptions. Please do not interpret this as "we don't love Richard", simply that this NR has been mishandled by raising negative assumptions that could be avoided with negative assurance. If the room full of lawyers were writing this am's release they missed the mark .
