I think this thread has run its course. There are people having to sell their homes due to the mess we are in. There are retired people who will not live long enough to recover financially because their investments in stocks and mutual funds have tanked. Anyone on a defined contribution pension plan just saw their retirement date advance by 10 years. So much for freedom 55. And guess what? they are not all invested in NOT. Anything you chose over the last few years and decided to be long has caused serious losses. People are sick to their stomachs and blaming themselves because they did not have the foresight to convert to cash when the TSX was 15,000 or sold when we were at seven bucks. What a waste of self pity. The most astute investors in the world and the most powerful countries in the world were struck by this like an avalanche or a tsanumi. The world is working its way through this and the same powerful countries and the most brilliant minds in the world are steering unimaginable amounts of money and economic analysis toward a solution.
Meanwhile, we have invested in a small junior company that has not been affected at all in it's operations because it had the foresight or serendipitous good luck to have enough working capitol to keep on drilling while the rest of the producing world grinds to a halt. Sure our share price is down, what does anyone expect? Anyone with any cash is quite happy to leave it as cash particularly when the TSX drops a thousand points in a few days. Who is selling shares? Herb is right on the money when he says thousands of shareholders are uninformed and will transfer their cash from NOT to any "big tip" they desparately think will increase their portfolio. Investing in juniors has always been a gamble but the gamble for us has changed from "betting on finding something valuable" to "betting on the economic recovery". NOT are playing the game with their dark glasses on and cards firmly planted on the table. Should they do this and not let the rest of the table know? Who the hell knows. I am overweighted in this stock and my strategy has been to be long.Myself, I'm betting on the recovery and I'm letting NOT play the cards. I always have the option to fold and move to another table.
