There will come a point in time when a critical mass of chromite will be proven within a consolidated land mass. Given the peak global demand for Chrome is 19 million tonnes, if we produced 2.5 mt, we would need 10 furnaces and we would exceed the North American need for chrome. This means infiltrating overseas markets. Should not be a problem with our widths and grades, power costs and stability and public infrastructure support. The point is, producing 15% of the global demand is an ambitious start and it has potential to grow. However, even at 5mt per year, you only need 100mt for a twenty year plan. In my opinion, the critical mass that a company or consolidation needs to get to is 50 to 100mt. Once an entity takes the dominant role by defining this range of tonnage and gets ahead in the production planning, the remaining reserves (companies) will be forced to consolidate or remain fallow. I think NOT is advancing their control and has the edge.
