I did have the opportunity to watch the show. To think that the world is going to resort to localism as a defense against higher transportation costs is ludicrous. But even if it was to come to pass and the north american continent became self sufficient in steel production,AND the ROF area was able to corner the local market for chrome production, it would be a questionable investment for any major to make.
