Though not mentioned in the artical - Impala is the second largest producer of Platinum in the world now and is presently mainly based in South Africa. Of course they have some diversification as they also have a mine in that model for economic stability and good government Zimbabwe. Despite this and in the face of the economic downturn in 2008 they still made about $800,000,000 US in the year ending June 2009. They are clearly aware of what is going on in the McFaulds area as they took an option on the Northern Shield property - just south east of the Ring proper in 2005. From my reading the findings on the Northern Shield Property have been a dissapointment, but I would think the platinum goup numbers on the Noront cores must be attracting thier interest. They are also a nickel producer.

Noront would seem to be a potential fit.
