"The Chinese (BaoSteel) will not roll-over easily, as they see their investment and plans for the RoF in jeopardy.""
It's been stated by others and the Chinese themselves that their interest is not to buy everything under the sun but to invest to the extent that they have some control. However, if Xstrata were to make an offer, how would Baosteel maintain control? They'd have to buy it out themselves unless Xstrata made a deal with them. As I and others have mentioned before, it's hard to imagine those in the Cr biz not making a move. We know that they know about NOT as our lot have been over there checking over their operation and who knows what. We may get hit with a play not anticipated. I can't see how this thing won't get crazy. NOT took a lot of criticism for their globe trotting from convention to convention with seemingly no result and certainly not in the sp. However, some pretty important seeds with eyes have likely been growing very interested in NOT and have been keeping tabs. We might find interested entities sprouting out like crabgrass and I suspect that was NOT's intention. They knew what they had and offered just enough info. to wet appetites. It was an investment for the future....and perhaps that future is arriving.
