John L: Yes we can make some noise and we tried a couple of years ago. Granted perhaps far from all made noise so no results to speak of.
I must say what every one is probably well aware, politicians do not listen to a few dozen or even hundred writers, they need to hear from thousand at the very least. These politicos are too scared of going against what they perceive is the majority, i.e. afraid of losing voter support. Even if what is needed is so obvious, they need to be propped up before they do anything.

Again, my pessimism is on my lapel for all to see.

BUT what you John say re road, well it is so obvious that a child might be able to recognize but where are our legislators. They are running for the woods at the sight of a native with a potential hand out request before anything is decided let alone announced or funded.

While Fahrenheit, in my opinion the smelter was proposed because at the time it looked as if the road was decided upon and it was just a matter of time before funding was going to be achieved.
Making the announcement was supposed to speed up the process and provide confidence to potential funders that every thing was on the go.
Who could have seen that the whole process was going to be tripped up by road path etc.

Oh and thank you guys for trying to provide ideas as to what could be or should have been done.
I still say politicians could learn a thing or two from our forum, cheers Ed.
