It's been a long time since I've posted here. Good to see many of the same spirited crew still aboard and holding strong.
A few years back, I suffered ocular hypo and glaucoma and lost most of my vision for a considerable time but managed to get back some after attempted corrective surgeries and many complications. Reading anything was impossible but from time to time, I would have my wife read the posts for me. In my extended absence, I have also had treatment for cancer which is in remission. So life goes on and I spend time doing things that are more meaningful which is only possible due to successful and diligent investing over the years.
I too received a phone call solicitation. You should all know this is BHP's way for calculating consensus of the outstanding shareholders, at least those with sizeable positions. It will gauge the sentiment of the proposed offer of .55.
Yes, all of mynot's shares are still at brokerage house X, who I assume was happy to sell/give them my contact info to this third party service.
I too will decline the offer and did my best to register my opinion of said tepid offer with the caller.
The Noront BOD has failed its shareholders by witholding material information in a timely manor, that being the "missing" valuation study after the rejection of the Wyloo initial offer and then the subsequent rush to accept the higher BHP offer....immediately. Instead we get notes from TD and "Stifel-um" on fair valuation, general assumptions and positive head nodding.
The NOT story has ended in the worst way. This was never going to be an Aurelian Gold story. And it is ending with a reverse Cliff's deal in my opinion. I never really believed Noront would be the mine builders without substantial support from the Canadian government. And it appears that in the waining days, Canada is willing to let this vast mineral wealth go down under and without objection. And has there been any objections from First Nations, yet??
They (BOD) were supposed to get us (shareholders) to the offer table in an honarable way. They failed by capitulating to a low pathetic offer.
We shall see what happens at the end of the story now and I will be tuned in. The Ring of Fire story will continue regardless.
Bold Ventures and KWG surely have leadership with more backbone.
Thanks to all for keeping this board active with continued updates on anything ROF.
Especially to you Ringer. I will happily give up my hub leader spot to you. As for Ingrid Babjak, she was a champion poster as well but probably burned out like I was and threw in the towel.
Best regards,
