8:29 AM ET, April 27, 2009
MONTREAL, Apr 27, 2009 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX) -- EKO / TSX
Noveko International Inc. ("the Company") is pleased to announce that its subsidiary, SARL Noveko Algérie ("Noveko Algérie"), following a tendering process, has obtained significant new orders to supply various medical devices to the National Office of Equipment and Accessories for Handicapped People ("the NOEAHP") in Algeria.
At current prices, the orders are estimated at approximately CA$1.4 million. Devices are scheduled to be delivered throughout the calendar year ending December 31, 2009. The NOEAHP, already a client of Noveko Algérie, is an establishment under the jurisdiction of the Algerian Ministry of Labour and Social Security. NOEAHP's mission is to meet the material requirements expressed by handicapped persons.
Mr. Mourad Ramdane, President and General Manager of Noveko Algérie, said he is "very grateful for the confidence shown once again by the NOEAHP and pleased with this promising collaboration. This breakthrough should also facilitate access to other Maghreb countries." As part of its healthcare reforms, Algeria is investing heavily in new infrastructures equipped with modern medical equipment. "We plan to benefit fully from this strong development potential. In addition to stimulating our medical equipment imports, health promotion in Algeria creates other attractive outlets for all of the Company's products."
