In one of the largest gold producing regions in Canada
Hi Tom,
I would have to think getting "in" in the morning you would stand a very good chance of realizing a nice profit as imo OPW has a ways to run yet.
With the first of 8 cores coming back from the lab with results of 183m of 1.53 g/t gold and .389 copper near surface, the only question that may stand in the path of a $3 to $5 share price imo is the proof of the continuity of the deposit. But there is every indication given from the visuals of a few of the other 7 cores submitted of much the same thing i.e. copper sulphides keeping in mind it is very difficult if not impossible to see with the naked eye 1 or 2 grams per ton of gold. In any event we should expect to see the results from the other seven cores submitted real soon to verify what it appears.
It is this very question that may hold back the sp imo.
It should be noted however that near surface very good gold mineralization was encountered 800m away almost 1 kilometer. As per this section of old news included in the Feb 21st news release :
"Furthermore, previously announced drilling in 2007 from hole OPW-06-31 on section 2000N encountered near surface gold intersections of 5.1 g/t Au over 4m, 7.33 g/t Au over 3m and 5.75 g/t Au over 5.75m. The induced polarization survey has outlined resistivity and chargeability anomalies in this area over a strike length of 500m that will be tested. This area is about 800m north of hole AT-08-001 noted in the above table"
Also for comparison sake CPQ had amazingly a similar intercept of 1.61 grams of gold over 183m as well as decent values of silver lead and zinc. Very much the same.
CPQ went to $2 then eventually wound up to it's current $3.67!
The BIG kicker here imo is CPQ's float is roughly 50 million whereas OPW's is only roughly 15 million! Big difference.
Also market caps are usually used to assess values more as it takes in to consideration the float size and share price to determine value.
So CPQ's market cap is over 150 million resulting in a share price of $3.67 today.
OPW's market cap after today's trading is only 21 million with a share price of $1.57
There is a lot of room for growth of sp if you believe the assays are going to be comparable to the first one received. We're talking about 2 or 3 times the current $1.57 at least.
I hope this helps.
Good luck,
