Oro Gold Extends Taunus High-Grade Gold Zone to the South and Demonstrates Continuity at Trinidad Project, Mexico

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - April 28, 2010) - Oro Gold Resources Ltd. ("Oro Gold") (TSX VENTURE:OGR; OTC:OGRSF) reports diamond drill hole 44 at its Trinidad Project intersected 5.6 g/t gold over 15.6 metres (including 12.3 g/t gold over 6.6 metres) and discovered a deeper mineralized zone. Hole 44 is part of an ongoing drill program at Trinidad, a district-scale gold project near Mazatlan, Mexico.
Recent highlights from the ongoing drill program include:

A summary description of the latest diamond drill hole results is provided as follows:
- Hole 44 intersected three gold mineralized intervals (see Table 1):
- 0.2 g/t over 18 metres from a down-hole depth of 94 to 112 metres
- 5.6 g/t gold over 15.6 metres from a down-hole depth of 112 to 127.6 metres (including 12.3 g/t over 6.6 metres from 119 to 125.6 metres)
- 0.3 g/t over 22 metres from a down-hole depth of 290 to 312 metres
The gold-bearing HS zone represents a mineralized breccia interpreted to be a low-angle, horizontally controlled unit. The high-grade interval (5.6 g/t gold over 15.6 metres) has increased the length of the HS zone by approximately 100 metres to the south; the zone length is now approaching 500 metres and remains open-ended. Also, hole 44 intersected a deeper gold-bearing breccia zone (0.3 g/t gold over 22 metres). This represents a significant discovery, as experience at Taunus has shown that these lower grade intervals are often peripheral to higher grade gold zones. This gold anomaly is the deepest discovered to date, and it indicates excellent potential for additional oxide zones at depth.
- Hole 43 was designed to gather more structural information, test for feeder structures, and determine if a deeper zone exists below the HS zone. The hole did not return significant gold intercepts, but it did provide valuable structural and geochemical information. This data will be incorporated into our predictive geological model for both the resource estimation and diamond drill hole targeting.
- Hole 42 was designed to test for a western extension of the southern portion of the HS zone. The hole intersected numerous intervals returning anomalous base metal content indicating that the hole location is proximal to a gold zone. Although there are no significant gold intercepts to report, this hole gives us more geochemical and geological information to define subsequent drill hole targets in this area.
Increasing Drill Program
Diamond drilling continues to take place in the Taunus area in order to expand the resource and discover new gold zones.
Oro Gold is currently drilling a step-out hole (Hole 45) located 60 metres south of hole 44 testing for potential extensions of the high-grade gold zones (HS and Eldorado zones). These zones are anticipated to be intersected closer to surface.
RC drilling is directed towards testing new targets identified outside of the Taunus area. The areas that are being tested are located along the regional trend within one kilometre northwest and two kilometres southeast of the Taunus pit (see attached plan map showing recently completed and proposed drill site locations).
"We are currently testing a number of priority targets outside of the Taunus area using RC drilling as a quick and cost effective method to make a new gold discovery," said Francisco Vargas, Oro Gold's Exploration Manager. "Drill intervals that return anomalous gold mineralization will be followed up with diamond drilling."
Originally, Oro Gold planned to complete 5,000 metres of RC and 5,000 metres of diamond drilling. In light of recent developments, an additional 2,000 metres of RC drilling has been added to the program.
The objectives of the 2010 exploration drill program include:
-- Discovering new zones in the Taunus area
-- Expanding the known gold zones, both near surface and at depth
-- Deeper drilling to discover the source of the high-grade gold zones at
Taunus (possible feeders)
-- Making a new gold discovery outside of Taunus that has near- surface
gold resource potential
About Taunus
The Taunus gold target area is located on Oro Gold's wholly-owned Trinidad property in an 80 kilometre-long, northwest-trending structural corridor in what Oro Gold is referencing as the Trinidad district. The Taunus gold deposit is interpreted to be hosted in a local pull-apart basin situated in the larger Trinidad district structural corridor. Mineralization at the HS zone within the Taunus gold target is interpreted to be an oxidized, low-to-intermediate sulphidation, epithermal vein system. The mineralization is characterized by multiphase stockwork veining hosted in both clastic, porphyry intrusive and andesitic units. Oro Gold has identified 10 other gold targets within the Trinidad district currently being advanced to a drill stage.

Quality Assurance - Quality Control
The Trinidad project exploration is under the direction of Frank Powell, Executive Vice President Oro Gold Resources Ltd. Gary Lustig, P.Geo, a qualified person as designated by National Instrument 43-101 has reviewed the technical content of this release. Thorough quality assurance and quality control program (QA/QC) protocol was utilized on the project including duplicate, blank and standard samples with each batch of assays. The core samples were submitted directly to Inspectorate de Mexico, S.A de C.V. for preparation in Durango, Mexico, with analysis in Reno, Nevada. Analysis was conducted on 1 assay ton samples with over 20% as QA/QC samples. Analysis of gold was by fire assay, with a gravimetric finish on samples exceeding 5 g/t gold.
