Osisko's Canadian Malartic Environmental Impact Study Accepted |
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Jan. 27, 2009) - Osisko Mining Corporation ("Osisko") (TSX:OSK)(FRANKFURT:EWX) is pleased to announce that it was notified by the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Parks (Ministere du Developpement Durable et des Parc) ("MDDEP") that its Environmental Impact Study ("EIA") was accepted. This marks the beginning of the period during which the EIA will be made available to the public in order to give rise to a formal request for public hearings on the Canadian Malartic Project, as the case may be. Mr. Sean Roosen, President and CEO of Osisko stated: "We are very pleased to have achieved this significant milestone in the Quebec regulatory process. Osisko, along with the Consultation Group and the Town of Malartic, yesterday filed a request with the MDDEP for public hearings on the Canadian Malartic Project. Osisko looks forward to receiving the formal schedule to be set by the Bureau d'audiences publiques sur l'environnement (BAPE) for the public hearings which will lead to the approval of the Canadian Malartic Project."
