People by nature always get excited about something new.

I will give an example. Back in 1960 a CD was patented (at least some form of writing a data to a disc). It took over 15-20 years for CD to reach commercial production. Another example are full cells. It took over 15-20 (same as for CD) to be adopted for commercial production. Now we see more and more full cells in buses, forklifts, telecommunication, etc. World wide web is another example, army had it back in 60's, we got it in early 90's.

If you look at GaAs history in semiconductors it's been over 20 years now in research and development. But we are finally getting closer and OPEL or POET Technologies is ahead of everyone and very close to a commercial production.
