I think the difference between what Andy and IR is saying comes down to this. While the technical work is done and the company believes it is ready for monetization, Chris is saying that until an actual deal is signed and money is coming in, then there is no point about worrying about poison pills, takeovers etc.

So they are not really contradicting each other, just two sides of a coin that hasn't been delivered yet!
