I think I can understand your view point. If you have no idea what some technology is about and whether it is important or not, every milestone a company sets for itself could well be some esoteric stuff without any relation to reality. No reason for the least bit of confidence!
However, once a partner would sign up an agreement with that company, you would gain confidence in the company because that partner did.
This is quite understandable.
Most others here have much more confidence in POET, because they understand what the advantages of this GaAs optoelectronic integration stuff above CMOS silicon are, why it is needed by the industry, what its market impact could be, and which consequences it will likely have on the share price.
Of course the latter will happen only if and when investors like you (i.e. the vast majority) gain confidence in POET when there's a partnership. Yes, I believe you'll gladly pay double then, because you'd get away without having to fivefold, tenfold or even more.
