Pure optical circuit dones in Indium Phosphide. Their process is much simpler than POET, and can only be used for long wave IR optical applications (can't do electronics at all). As such, it's not a comparable technology to POET, and is likely to stay in a very large feature size process forever 500 nm +.

We're reducing the feature size for digital electronics applications, which is by far the largest market opportunity in the near to medium term. Purely optical applications can be fully addressed with 500 nm minimum feature sizes, as they are today. >
