They would not go down to 14nm with POET the next year. That would make no sense and would leave very little room for improvement. Not a smart business strategy either. So there goes that theory, however nice it would be. Its just way to early on for that still.

It took 9-10 years to go from about 90nm down to 14nm. I'm already a bit surprised we are starting out at below 100nm but then again, no one on the outside knows why or even who asked for this yet. It will be interesting to find out though.
