I had a chat with an Engineer about this type of process. The due dilligence involoved in the kind of deal that we all hope for, is extraodinary. Aquiring companies don't just want finished wafers, they want those wafers to be built 10 times and work the same each time. Maybe they'll want those same pieces built on different forging equipment. Obviously if we're talking hundreds of millions if not billions, there will be no short-cuts. It's painfully, frustratingly slow, but this is not "here's the chip/semi-conductor, that'll be a billion dollars please."
